Frequently Asked Questions
We are always interested in learning about the challenges you face as a Coordinator. If you have a response to one of the FAQs below or if you have a question that isn't answered here, feel free to email us at creativementoring@connecting-generations.org.
FAQs about the Application Process
Q: I know someone who applied to become a Creative Mentor, but I haven’t heard from you about them. When can they start to mentor?
A: After you receive an email confirming their application is complete, and a fax with their criminal background check and other forms. You can check the status of any applicant. When a new mentor puts in an application and has selected your school, their name will appear in your mentor index as inactive. You can look at their record to see when they have completed the pieces of their application.
FAQs about Active Mentors
Q: A mentor contacted me to follow a student from another school. Can they mentor at my school?
A: Absolutely. Just call Creative Mentoring to let us know that the mentor has chosen to switch schools. We will then fax you the forms that you need and make that mentor’s information accessible to you in the database.
FAQs about the Database
Q: I can’t log into the database (or I’ve forgotten my password). What should I do?
A: Call Creative Mentoring to confirm your user name and password. Remember your user name and password are case sensitive.
FAQs about Special Circumstances
Q: Should I allow a student to meet with his/her mentor when he/she has been placed in “Supervised In School Suspension”?
A: Several coordinators answered this question. Answer to be updated shortly.
