Applications take approximately one month to process from the time of receipt. Please register for a training session at the same time you apply so that we can place you with a child as quickly as possible.

How to Become a Creative Mentor
- Review the Printable Mentor Application Packet carefully (or complete it online)
- Complete the Mentor Application Packet containing the following items (or complete it online):
Mentor Application
Mentor Agreement
Criminal Background Check
Health Questionnaire for Volunteers
Training Registration -
Complete the Mentor Application Packet in its entirety and return it to:

- Attend the required workshop. When you register, let us know if you'll be mentoring in an elementary or middle school. At the workshop you will receive one of the following manuals:
- Elements of Effective Mentoring for those mentoring in elementary school, and
- Mentoring in the Middle for those mentoring in middle school.
What happens next...
Once your full application has been processed and you have completed the required mentoring training workshop, Creative Mentoring will forward your application to the school you requested.
If you do not hear from the school's Mentoring Coordinator within two weeks of completing your training, please contact Creative Mentoring at 302.656.2122 or toll-free at 877.202.9050.
Both Creative Mentoring and your school Mentoring Coordinator will remain available to support you during your mentoring relationship.
